I'm not going to discuss this part further then to say I have received my full rights back from Dreamspinner, without issues, per my request. Titles include:
The happier part of this news is that all of my ESTO Universe books will now live in one place at Mischief Corner Books, and I can, when I'm ready, continue the Web of Arcana series.
(Hint: I am not ready. There's so much to do.) The Gravitational Attraction cover did not come back with the book, though, since the rights belong to the artist. So I'm pleased to be able to share the brand new cover for the Grav. Attraction reissue. (It's a beauty :D )

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! The Hunt for Red Fluffy is done. The End. She's now with the faithful beta readers and it shouldn't be too much longer before we see a release date. This is the longest Brimstone yet, at about 39K before edits. Huh. My little novella series is trying to turn into novels. We're counting down now - less than a month before the release of The Mage on the Hill - eeeeee! I have blog posts to write and things to do, but I'm very excited to announce that Mage will also be launching in German. :D
Der Magier auf dem Berg should be available on or about the English language release date. Friday is here once more! This week I'm reading a bit for you from the start of The Mage on the Hill. I know some folks are curious - so here's an appetizer :) The Mage on the Hill
Web of Arcana 1 Coming May 7 - up for preorder: Amazon Dreamspinner Barnes and Noble Kobo iBooks Toby’s wild magic is killing him. The mage guilds have given up on him, and it’s only a matter of time before he dies in a spectacular, catastrophic bang. His only hope is an exiled wizard who lives in seclusion—and is rumored to have lost his mind. The years alone on his hilltop estate have not been good for Darius Valstad. After the magical accident that disfigured him and nearly drowned Pittsburgh, he drifts through his days, a wraith trapped in memories and depression. Until a stricken young man collapses on his driveway, one who claims Darius is his last chance. For the first time in fifteen years, Darius must make a choice—leave this wild mage to his fate or take him in and try to teach him, which may kill them both. The old Darius, brash and commanding, wouldn’t have hesitated. Darius the exile isn’t sure he can find the energy to try. For The Mage on the Hill, that is. I'll be doing the rounds at some of the blogs, but I also want to offer a limited number of reader ARC's in a couple of weeks. A couple of things:
We're about six weeks out and I'm starting to get super nervous. *bites nails* If you want to wait for your official copy on release day (or if you don't get an ARC) the pre-order links are everywhere :) Amazon Dreamspinner Barnes and Noble Kobo iBooks Also, the first Brimstone Journals collection has launched in French :D Les Registres de La Soufrière 1 Amazon La Soufrière : vaisseau de transport, centre de commandes de contrebande et de mercantilisme. It's finally springy here while I type this, which puts me in a hopeful, green frame of mind. There are more daffodils this year, so my separation campaign has worked, though the squirrels seem to have stolen the tulip bulbs again despite the blood meal. Oh well. In writing news, because you didn't come for a gardening blog: The Amazon links are here for The Mage on the Hill! Up for pre-order now in all countries that I've checked (UK, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Australia, Canada) and releasing May 7. Pre-order links are available everywhere else as well including, of course, at the publisher. :) Amazon Dreamspinner Barnes and Noble Kobo iBooks The first box set of Offbeat Crimes stories releases this coming Tuesday at Pride Publishing. That's the first three books in the series for only $4.99. A steal if there ever was one.
The second set is due out April 16. Chipping away at the current WIP's.
Progress is ongoing for Detonations and Devotions: Lijun 3, in which Tally and Haru just have a lovely life and nothing at all goes wrong. (If you are screaming liar, liar, pants on fire! at this point, you would be correct.) Also making good progress on the next Brimstone, The Hunt for Red Fluffy. Looks to be about halfway there? I gave up predicting word count for Shax some time ago, though, so let's just say we're at least a third, possibly more. This is a fun thing releasing next month. The Offbeat Crimes series will be released in two box sets. This first one contains: Lime Gelatin and Other Monsters The Pill Bugs of Time Skim Blood and Savage Verse For a steal of a price, too. :D Also wanted to mention that the first industry review of The Mage on the Hill is scheduled in Foreword Magazine next month.
I'm both excited and quite terrified. :o People ask me a lot of questions, but most of them are along the lines of Have you seen my keys? or Where's the cat? so I'll try to stick to questions relevant to current writing work and related items:
The Mage on the Hill: The Web of Arcana 1 comes out May 7! Pre-order is up at Dreamspinner and here's the gorgeous cover by Tiferet Design! I'm very excited about this series and hope you'll come along for the ride. :) The Mage on the Hill
