Happy Friday, Everyone! I hope everyone's doing well right now - for those of you hunkered down, good job :) and for those of you essential workers going out into the wilds - thank you, thank you, thank you! Today, we have an excerpt from Jeanne St. James m/m contemporary, Crossing the Line. Motorcycles, rock musicians AND cops? A wonderfully volatile combination. Come have a listen. :D Crossing the Line A Dirty Angels MC/Blue Avengers MC Crossover by Jeanne St. James Ebook/paperback Audiobook (Narrated by Aaron Shedlock & Teddy Hamilton) Nash, a longtime Dirty Angels MC member and lead singer of Dirty Deeds, has a secret. For years, he’s hidden his bisexuality from his brothers, fellow bikers, worried how they’d take the news. But Nash isn’t the only one keeping secrets from his brotherhood. So is Cross, a police officer and member of the Blue Avengers MC. As opposite as they come, when Cross spots Nash across the bar, he can’t resist the unexpected attraction. Then lines are crossed, boundaries blurred. And they need to survive in two different worlds where men who like other men aren’t usually accepted, and where bikers and cops don’t mix. Reality and fantasy are two different things. The fantasy being Cross and Nash can be together, that they can make it work. The reality being their situation is impossible. Cross will never give up being a cop. Nash will never give up being a biker. What either of them would have to walk away from is more than anyone should ask for. In the end, fighting reality could be a losing battle in a war they might never win. Note: A standalone, Crossing the Line is a crossover gay romance involving a member of the Dirty Angels MC and one from the Blue Avengers MC. It includes forbidden love, enemies to lovers, cop vs biker, alpha vs alpha. As with all my books, it has no cliffhanger and an HEA. Come have a listen :) Unbreak My Heart Unbreak My Heart 1 by K-lee Klein Amazon KU Brett’s Taylor’s world collapsed three years ago when he lost the love of his life. Almost as bad as the still-overwhelming grief is the advice he gets from everyone and their brother, telling him to move on with his life. They’re flat-out wrong. Brett left his country music career and escaped to his ranch because needs the peace and quiet. He doesn’t want anyone invading his memory-filled, booze-fueled solitude. JT Campbell’s world had been defined by his parents’ money and his own empty relationships, until he couldn’t live that way anymore. A quest to find something more meaningful leads him to Brett’s ranch. It’s supposed to be a brief stay. JT never wanted to be anyone’s savior or compete with the ghosts of lovers past. Still, he can’t help wanting this gruff, mourning man. JT knows it’s a bad idea, but his heart keeps pushing him to find out what lies beneath Brett’s battered exterior. Brett’s not going to make it easy, so JT can only be patient, keep his sense of humor, and hope one day he’ll be allowed far enough into Brett’s world to unbreak his heart. About K-lee:
K-lee Klein grew up in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia and now lives only two hours away in Calgary, Alberta. Her life is blessed by three now-grown (but still spoiled) kids and a new, adorable grandson named Remy. She has a patient husband of over thirty years and spends her days being bossed around by a feline, Miss Chili, and a canine, Princess Chewie. K-lee’s writing muse is terribly temperamental so to keep him close by and in-check, she had him inked on her left calf. Yet she still writes on his schedule and inspiration, and quite honestly, he can be a bit of a drama queen. K-lee writes mostly contemporary but has dipped her pen into paranormal and urban fantasy, and her favorite tropes to write and read are hurt-comfort, friends to lovers, opposites attract, and relationships with children. Her biggest accomplishment as an author was releasing her first self-published book. Although K-lee considers herself to be an extroverted introvert and revels in her solitude, she very much enjoys traveling to conferences to meet up with friends old and new. She’s grateful for all the people in her life who accept her as she is and support her through the ups and downs as a mom, wife, friend, and joyfully obsessed writer. Another quick update today - there are things on the horizon I'll keep for later since it's all early days still.
But I did promise to keep you updated on where A Fine Mess is on the Brimstone Scale. (That very scientific writing tool I recently introduced.) So here is where we are as of right this moment: Happy Friday, everyone! This week I got to ham it up with a fun scene from Allison Temple's brand new novel, Work-Love Balance, the first in her Out & About series. Come have a listen. :D Work-Love Balance An Out & About Novel by Allison Temple Amazon (KU) The customer always comes first, but IT consultant Brady Jansen loves to hate Nash O’Hara. Except the fine line between hate and attraction means sometimes Brady can’t help it when he crosses the boundary between professional and personal. Recently divorced, workaholic Nash knows he’s hard to please. When the smart-mouthed IT consultant he depends on to keep his office running offers a no-commitment hookup, it seems like exactly what he and Brady both need to get through a busy summer at work. No one has to know about their arrangement. But the more time they spend together, the more secrets they have to keep from the people around them—and from each other. The lies are piling up, until it’s hard to tell who’s fooling whom. If Brady and Nash want to find the balance between work and love, a little honesty will go a long way. Work-Love Balance is a 70k contemporary MM office romance. It’s hot enough you’ll want to make sure the air conditioning is on in your cubicle, and heartfelt enough you’ll want to smack both characters before the end. HEA guaranteed. About Allison:
Allison Temple has been a writer since the second grade, when she wrote a short story about a girl and her horse. Her grandmother typed it out for her and said she’s never seen so many quotation marks from a seven-year-old before. Allison took that as a challenge and has gone on to try to break her previous record in all her subsequent works. Allison lives in Toronto with her very patient husband and the world’s neediest cat. She splits her free time between writing, community theater stage management, and traveling anywhere that has good wine. Tragically, this leaves no time to clean her house. In Brimstone news, I'm going to start looking at A Fine Mess in relation to other Brimstone stories now. Current writing update: A Fine Mess has just reached one Hell for the Company long. I should do a chart or something... Happy Friday, everyone! Today I have the great pleasure of being able to read to you from AJ Sherwood's new story - Mack's Perfectly Ghastly Homecoming: Mack's Marvelous Manifestations 2. Paranormal humor, y'all! Come and get it! Mack's Perfectly Ghastly Homecoming Mack's Marvelous Manifestations 2 AJ Sherwood Amazon/ KU Mack’s over the moon to not only have Brandon but to finally be done with all their training. With the official FBI stamp of approval, they are ready to start ghost busting. The very last place he wants to be sent to is his hometown of Opelousas, Louisiana, however. But a child is being terrorized, and when he discovers it’s his favorite cousin, all reluctance is forgotten. His cousin’s ghost problem is not their only case, though. The nearby university also has a malevolent ghost that is seriously escalating. Students are being scratched, pushed down the stairs, and generally terrified. Even with Brandon’s unwavering support, this might be a bit much for just two people to handle. And when the ghost proves it can break all the windows in a three-story building? Mack knows they definitely won’t be able to do it alone. It’s shaping up to be a perfectly ghastly homecoming. Tags: Bad ghosts, homophobia, Brandon’s dying to shoot something, cockblocking ghost, lots of first times in this one, car sex, Mack is secretly a BAMF, which turns Brandon on so HARD, pun totally intended, FBI paranormal division likes to break things, Brandon’s super happy about it, no dedicated top/bottom, M/F/M secondary characters, bisexual PoC BAMFs, relationship growth, self-growth, Mack’s a work in progress and he knows it, flying is fun The sequel to Brandon’s Very Merry Christmas is LIVE! About AJ Sherwood
AJ Sherwood believes in happily ever afters, magic, dragons, good men, and dark chocolate. She often dreams at night of delectable men doing sexy things with each other. In between writing multiple books (often at the same time) she pets her cats, plays with her dogs, and attempts insane things like aerial yoga. She currently resides in Tennessee with aforementioned cats, dogs, and her editor/best friend/sister/partner in crime. This time next week, I'll be at the first day of Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. I'm a little intimidated. The show floor is hugemongous.
If you're in the Seattle area and would like to come say hi or buy some books or yell at me for being mean to Julian, I'll be in the vendor hall: Mischief Corner Books: Booth #943 Look for the MCB dragon: |
