Happy Post Turkey Day, everyone! This week, I have a M/M historical to read to you - and you all know how much I appreciate historicals in addition to Regency - a medieval historical from Charlene Newcomb, Men of the Cross. A bloody, tumultuous, but fascinating time to write about - come have a listen! Men of the Cross Battle Scars 1 by Charlene Newcomb They embarked on the Crusades as strangers. They battled through as more than brothers-in-arms. Men of the Cross (Battle Scars I) The idealistic knight Henry de Grey was prepared to bloody his sword, to slay the enemy, when he joins the Lionheart’s crusader army. But Henry struggles to justify the violent acts he has committed in God’s name when innocents are slaughtered. Battle-hardened Sir Stephan l’Aigle's prowess on the battlefield is well known, and he takes Henry under his wing. Through heroism and heartache, the two knights’ friendship will be tested. Their greatest trial will not be fought with sword or lance, but with their hearts. This epic saga reveals the fighting spirit and impact of war on the knights who serve the Lionheart, the bonds of comradeship - and love - that develop between them, and their personal joys, sorrows and struggles. Men of the Cross is a must-read for all who enjoy action-packed historical fiction with a slow-burn romance. Amazon, Kindle Unlimited About Char
Charlene Newcomb lives, works, and writes in Kansas. She is an academic librarian by trade (recently retired), a U.S. Navy veteran, and has three grown children. When not at the library, she is still surrounded by books trying to fill her head with all things medieval and galaxies far, far away. Men of the Cross is book 1 of the Battle Scars trilogy, novels taking place during the reign of King Richard I, the Lionheart, of England. The anthology, Betrayal, includes her short story, “A Knight’s Tale,” a prequel to Battle Scars. Her current WIP is Rogue, another medieval tale set at the end of evil King John’s reign. Char’s other love is science fiction. Echoes of the Storm was published in July 2020. Char loves to travel and enjoys quiet places in the mountains or on rocky coasts. But even in Kansas she can let her imagination soar. I'm going to make this really easy. There is no official reading order. ESTO Universe stories - so far - are all stand alone. Two short stories, one novella, and three novels.
If you'd like to read them in Universe chronological order:
You'll find mentions of characters from other stories sometimes and By Imperial Decree has two minor character appearances from an earlier story, but you don't need to have read the others to know what's happening in your current read. The latest addition is, of course, By Imperial Decree - out now in ebook and paperback :) Mischief Corner Books Amazon Kobo Apple Paperback I love reading for everyone on Fridays. It's always fun, but some weeks I get to have extra fun :D This week's excerpt is from a paranormal short story by Ofelia Gränd - Elevator Pitch. Come have a listen. Elevator Pitch by Ofelia Gränd Bjorn Ritter only wants one thing—to live his life away from nosey, demanding bears. That's easier said than done when you're the son of the female running the Bayside Bear Community. Cecil Baxter might be a bat, but he grew up away from shifter communities and he's doing his best to continue to keep his distance. Shifters aren't an accepting bunch and Cecil has never fit the norm. Already facing a dreaded meeting with his mother, the last thing Bjorn needs is a stranger using his elevator to escape a pack of werewolves. And Cecil, whose day just seems to be getting worse and worse, could really do without the added stress of finding himself trapped in an elevator with a huge bear shifter. JMS Books Universal Link About Ofelia
Ofelia Gränd is Swedish, which often shines through in her stories. She likes to write about everyday people ending up in not-so-everyday situations, and hopefully also getting out of them. She writes romance, contemporary, paranormal, Sci-Fi and whatever else catches her fancy. Her books are written for readers who want to take a break from their everyday life for an hour or two. When Ofelia manages to tear herself from the screen and sneak away from her husband and children, she likes to take walks in the woods…if she’s lucky she finds her way back home again. https://ofeliagrand.com/ https://cutt.ly/ReaderGroup (Newsletter) https://www.facebook.com/ofelia.grand https://www.facebook.com/groups/412111659209785/ (Group) https://www.pinterest.se/ofeliagrand/ https://www.instagram.com/ofelia.grand/ Out now - and thank you so much to everyone who has purchased! The story of Shiro, Marsh, and their pretend engagement is out there waiting if you haven't. :) In ebook and paperback. One station mechanic. One prince on the run. A batch of potentially dangerous suitors in pursuit and the impulsive solution to try to fend them off. Recipe for disaster.

Hope it's a good one for everyone. :) Today, I get to read to you from *drumroll* the newly released, 3rd Stoker and Bash mystery, The Death Under the Dark Arches by Selina Kray. I love Time and Hiero and have been waiting for this one. Come have a listen as Hiero does what he does best... The Death Under the Dark Arches Stoker and Bash 3 by Selina Kray Amazon Universal Buy Link Sing a song of sixpence A stage full of fright One two-faced blackbird Won't last the night When a phantom presence lures Hieronymus Bash into a deadly game, threatening to kill one of the players at his beloved Gaiety Theater each day until famed actor Horace Beastly returns to the stage, London's premier consulting detective is on the case. The trouble? Horace Beastly is Hiero's alter ego and the true object of this murderous obsession. When the current star of the show is struck down, Hiero has to risk everything by stealing back the spotlight. After a golden summer together, DI Tim Stoker would do everything in his power to protect the man he loves. But a specter from his own past proves an unexpected, and perhaps fatal, distraction. Scheming prima donnas, grudge-fuelled critics, and an axe-wielding theater ghost are all out for blood. Will Hiero and Tim unmask this menace before the final curtain call, or are they past the point of no return? About Selina:
Selina Kray is the nom de plume of an author and English editor. Professionally she has covered all the artsy-fartsy bases, having worked in a bookstore, at a cinema, in children’s television, and in television distribution, up to her latest incarnation as a subtitle editor and grammar nerd (though she may have always been a grammar nerd). A self-proclaimed geek and pop culture junkie who sometimes manages to pry herself away from the review sites and gossip blogs to write fiction of her own, she is a voracious consumer of art with both a capital and lowercase A. Selina’s aim is to write genre-spanning romances with intricate plots, complex characters, and lots of heart. Whether she has achieved this goal is for you, gentle readers, to decide. At present she is hard at work on future novels at home in Montreal, Quebec, with her wee corgi serving as both foot warmer and in-house critic.
