About Char
Charlene Newcomb lives, works, and writes in Kansas. She is an academic librarian (recently retired) by trade, a U.S. Navy veteran, and has three grown children. She loves to travel and enjoys quiet places in the mountains or on rocky coasts. But even in Kansas she can let her imagination soar. Today I'm reading to you from the first book in Dani Hermit and Nevi Star's Burnouts series - Back Issues. Superheroes, paranormal shenanigans, erotic romance. This excerpt is safe for work and small ears, but I will have content warnings for the story down below. :) Back Issues Burn Outs 1 by Dani Hermit & Nevi Star CW: dub/noncon, tragic backstories, explicit sex, angst, and cliffhangers. Amazon KU In a world where a select few are granted superpowers, the Chosen are pitted in staged battles of good vs. evil. That is, until a Hero turned against the system and stole everyone's powers. Can retired Villain Matt Evans restore balance to the world when his long dormant powers mysteriously come back on line? And can he do it while navigating the awkwardness of working with Colton Stevens - a former Hero who used to be Matt's public rival as well as his private lover. About the Authors:
The writing duo behind several briefly notorious YuGiOh fanfics, Dani Hermit and Nevi Star have been romantically involved for over 20 years, though they have been telling stories together for even longer. A mutual love of slash fan-fiction and high fantasy novels lead to a love for each other that hasn't faded through the years. Together they created the various incarnations of the characters who would one day emerge as the cast for their original works. Dani does the cover design both for the Hermit & Star books as well as a side-hustle to pay for coffee. They’ve also been known to crochet odd little creatures, read Tarot, and play a wicked good game of Cards Against Humanity. Art school survivor Nevi is working on designs for graphic novel versions of the Hermit & Star catalog, as well as drawing cute critters in the kawaii anime style of her own, when she’s not drowning in an ocean of baking shows and home shopping binges. When not fully emerged in the imaginary worlds they've created, Dani and Nevi spend their time absorbing books, anime, and reality TV. They live in a lovely little community in suburban Indiana with their pirate crew and a few cats. https://hermitstarbooks.wordpress.com/ https://www.instagram.com/hermitstarbooks/ https://www.facebook.com/hermitstarbooks https://twitter.com/hermitstarbooks https://www.patreon.com/hermitstarbooks https://www.queeromanceink.com/mbm-book-author/dani-hermit/ Audio news first! Paranormal, holiday-themed, mysterious goings-on. :D Come have a listen! (I think I know what Remy is, but I'm so very curious to find out!) The Solstice Kings by Kim Fielding Coming October 6! Pre-order: Amazon KU Miles Thorsen’s adopted family is… unusual. But that’s not why he fled after graduating from college. Now, after ten years of restless wandering, he returns home for the winter holiday celebration. The solstice is a time of change, and perhaps it’s time for Miles to face who he is, who he loves… and who he’ll become. About Kim:
Kim Fielding is the bestselling author of numerous m/m romance novels, novellas, and short stories. Like Kim herself, her work is eclectic, spanning genres such as contemporary, fantasy, paranormal, and historical. Her stories are set in alternate worlds, in 15th century Bosnia, in modern-day Oregon. Her heroes are hipster architect werewolves, housekeepers, maimed giants, and conflicted graduate students. They’re usually flawed, they often encounter terrible obstacles, but they always find love. After having migrated back and forth across the western two-thirds of the United States, Kim calls the boring part of California home. She lives there with her family, her cat, and her day job as a university professor, but escapes as often as possible via car, train, plane, or boat. This may explain why her characters often seem to be in transit as well. She dreams of traveling and writing full-time. kfieldingwrites.com Twitter: @KFieldingWrites FB: https://www.facebook.com/KFieldingWrites/ A quick update this week on things in the works right now (THINGS!) 1.
