In which Angel manages to let the audience fall over - but it's okay. No casualties have been reported. Into the Divide The Divide Universe 1 by Sandra Bard Less Than Three Press Nullands: Sections of a series of planets sealed off by an energy barrier, called the Divide, filled with danger, where technology does not work. Tarn is part of the Death Squad, a criminal given a second chance by agreeing to risk his life over and over again in the Nullands. His latest mission is the kind he usually avoids: babysit an inexperienced lab tech while they hunt down the dangerous creature that escaped a research lab. Calvin is the lab tech given the unenviable task of hunting down the creature that escaped his lab, after it killed his friend and five others. An assignment he mostly landed for refusing to sleep with his boss, he knows damn good and well he's being sent to die. What he doesn't expect is Tarn, or how far he's willing to go to survive. Divided Within The Divide Universe 2 by Sandra Bard Available for Pre-order at Less Than Three Press When Commander Michelle is murdered, the duty of managing the exploration base falls to Izaak. But Science Division doesn't want him in authority, his second in command is transferring out, and the inspector sent to investigate the murder is someone Izaak would much rather have never seen again. All in all, he'd rather be fighting monsters behind the Divide. Author: Sandra Bard
Sandra Bard has been writing stories ever since she was a small girl but she’s only recently started to publish. She loves to make up stories in her head, read books, watch anime (mecha, yaoi), and occasionally visits a fan-fiction site. She lives with her pets (fish, cats and dogs), and has been a volunteer for an organization that takes care of stray dogs (there are many, where she lives), for over ten years. When she has some free time she dabbles in Wushu, Tai Chi, and Yoga to keep herself flexible (she hopes). Her real life jobs involve lecturing at the university and freelancing as a maths tutor. Though she writes romance stories, she still hasn’t met Mr. Right and hopes one day that she’ll be able to rescue him (whoever he may be) from a fire breathing dragon (or something equally daring). She would love to hear from her readers and can be found at her tumblr (sandrabard.tumblr.com) or emailed at [email protected].

One author's plea with the natural world to please, please stop this winter crap... March 5, 2015 Dear Mother Nature, It's been a pretty nasty winter. Snow and ice. Lots of ice. Lots of falls. But at least we weren't in New England. Seriously, Mom Nature? Did you lose a bet against the Patriots this year? You seemed awfully mean to the folks up in the Boston area. Just about spring now, though. I'm thinking this is the last snow. It's pretty with the birds at the feeder. Sure will be glad to see it melt. March 21, 2015 Dear Mother Nature, Um, did we get our wires crossed somewhere? I mean, OK, I get it, you're having trouble letting go. But it's the first day of spring today. Spring. You remember. When the snow goes away and we get wind and rain? Yes, regular rain without the freezing parts? Then we get daffodils coming up and stuff blooming. You know, flowers? Remember those? I'm hoping this was just an oversight and that you'll be back on track soon. I'm not mad or anything. Just, you know, try to get it together? March 27, 2015
Dear Mother Nature, Look! I planted flowers! Aren't they pretty? See - primroses and pansies for the little beds on either side of the front porch. I know it's not a lot, but a small offering to you and to spring. Because it's spring now, right? RIGHT?!? Wait...what? No...no, stop that! Take those back! Don't toss more white flakes down here. Knock it off! I planted flowers for you damn it! It's SPRING! In which I seem to have more than one attack of muttering, but get to play one of my favorite characters, Kai Hiltas, the drow... Quinn's Gambit AURA #1 by Bellora Quinn and Angel Martinez Totally Bound Amazon All Romance **A Totally Bound and All Romance Best Seller** After a terrible magical accident at Berkeley created unpredictable holes between realities, all manner of non-human creatures started popping into our world. These displacements, called Random Anomalous Reality Events or RARE, have taken magic out of fiction and relocated it firmly in reality, resulting in a great deal of chaos and confusion. Displaced elf Valerian works with AURA, the Agency of Unnatural Resettlement and Assimilation, to intercept these beings as they appear in the human world, helping the peaceful ones and subduing the violent, malevolent ones. It’s good, satisfying work, and Val would be happy if he wasn’t so lonely. Quinten is a young mage just trying to get by, but New York isn’t the easiest city to make a living in. If his methods are sometimes morally dubious, his heart is still in the right place. Of course, for Quinn, the right place means firmly locked away, protected at all costs. Living by his wits and sometimes magically induced luck, he works as a ‘freelance magic user’, or unregistered mage and small-time con, according to the authorities. The last thing Quinn wants is to draw the cops’ attention, but when an Event happens right on top of him, he’s forced to turn to AURA for help. Valerian isn’t at all what he’d expected in an AURA cop, and he certainly wasn’t expecting to join forces with the sexy elf, a snarky drow and a bitter incubus, when certain individuals in power try to stop the RARE by any means necessary. Things are not all what they seem at AURA headquarters, and a greater evil lurks at the top than anyone could have imagined. And coming in June - Flax's Pursuit, AURA #2 A murderer haunts the city, turning the unwary to stone. Between hunting this evil and corralling new arrivals, Flax struggles to guard both his life and his heart. In which Angel needs to wear the gray sweater. It's spring but it's still flipping cold! Magic's Muse Hidden Places: Book 2 by Anne Barwell Dreamspinner Press Tomas and Cathal have escaped from Naearu, Cathal’s mystical homeworld, but happily ever after is never as straightforward in real life as it is in books. Then again, most people don’t deal with the complication of a lover who’s magically bound to a tree or have an interfering cat for a cousin. With Naearu’s police force, the Falcons, still after Cathal, he can’t go home. Now that he and Tomas have consummated their relationship, Cathal’s abilities are evolving and changing to the point that Tomas can sense them. And until the oak portal closes, Cathal—and his new life with Tomas—are in limbo as Cathal can’t expect Tomas to stay with someone who can never venture past the property line. Will he and Tomas ever get to follow through on their engagement? Cat's Quill Hidden Places: Book One by Anne Barwell Dreamspinner Press Tomas Kemp has two successful novels to his name and the true belief that a successful sequel is only a matter of a little inspiration. When Tomas meets a mysterious stranger under the branches of an old oak tree, he feels compelled to tell him about a book he holds dear and the sequel he wants to read. But Cathal doesn’t share that deep belief that the sequel Tomas seeks ends happily. Cathal has seen enough of a world where stories are real to know that happy ever after is sometimes the dream that won’t come true. But stories have never let Tomas down, and as he follows Cathal across the reality shift between their worlds, he learns that Cathal is right: Happy ever after is never just given—but sometimes, it can be fought for and won. About the Author:
Anne Barwell lives in Wellington, New Zealand. She shares her home with two cats who are convinced that the house is run to suit them; this is an ongoing "discussion," and to date it appears as though the cats may be winning. She works in a library, is an avid reader and watcher of a wide range of genres, and is constantly on the look out for more hours in her day. http://anne-barwell.livejournal.com/ http://annebarwell.wordpress.com/ http://coffeeunicorns.wordpress.com/ When I was a kid, I would cry when dragons died in stories. Even when they were supposed to be evil, scary dragons, it upset me. Why does the dragon always have to die? To me, Sigurd was a cowardly jerk and Prince Philip would never have my forgiveness. I even feel rather ambivalent about Bard the Bowman. Of course, I've read better dragon stories since the old legend and fairytale days of childhood, but there's a lingering sadness in the back of my brain. Why does the dragon have to die? And, yes, I recognize that's it's more often than not a symbolic death, a metaphorical death, the old gods defeated by the new, the ancient ways supplanted. But there always seems to be another dragon for the hero to kill. So what if the dragon is more than a metaphorical stand in? What if, like the old crop gods, dragons, or a certain dragon, were doomed to a cycle of death-resurrection-death? Ah. We have premise. And brain ran off with it into odd places, as it has a tendency to do. Dragons, Diamonds and Discord is Hermes' story, but it's also Fafnir's. Because he needed one. Out now at Amber Allure, coming soon to Amazon, etc. Dragons, Diamonds and Discord Brandywine Investigations 3 part of the AmberPax "Kiss of Fire" The most valuable pieces of jewelry are vanishing from the god Hermes’ Manhattan stores and the security feeds pick up only clouds of smoke. While the god of thieves, messengers, and commerce doesn’t appreciate someone stealing from him, he’s intrigued by this thief’s ingenuity and skill. When Hermes enlists his family to trap his burglar, he gets the surprise of his immortal life. Fafnir just wants to be left alone. Doomed over the centuries to a never-ending cycle of violent death and painful rebirth, he had hoped to find an escape in the quiet life of author and illustrator. But there are forces at work he doesn’t understand, and his peace is shattered by the return to old cycles and the sudden interference of a beautiful and incredibly irritating Greek god. In which Angel's tongue decides to make things difficult and you get to see the non-working grandfather clock in the dining room...
