Yes! Managed to type The End on Offbeat Crimes 5 yesterday - Jackalopes and Woofen-poofs!
Some of you may realize by the title that it's all about hoax animals. There are more out there than I thought. Surprised the heck out of me. The original title was "Jackalopes and Snipe Hunts" but really, snipes aren't very interesting and barely count as a hoax animal at all. Anyway - this is the second Alex Wolf and Jason Shen story with the POV split between them. For reasons. The story is with the faithful beta now, who will rip and shred and tell me all the parts where I screwed up continuity and stretched believability beyond even hoax animals. It's tentatively on the schedule with Pride for a pre-order date in late August, but I'll confirm all that as we get there. In the meantime, if you haven't acquainted yourself with the men and women of the 77th Precinct, there are four books already waiting. :)

General release for Dust Bunnies on June 20! For those of you who've been waiting for the Amazon, Kobo, etc. links - you get to meet The Kitten next week! I'm also hard at work on Jackalopes and Woofenpoofs - looks like about the 2/3's mark! (Maybe.) Feral Dust Bunnies Offbeat Crimes 4 Pride Publishing Amazon Barnes and Noble Kobo Apple iBooks Officer Alex Wolf responds to a lot of ‘paranormal’ calls that aren’t. Exotic pet birds aren’t monsters and unusual dog breeds aren’t aliens. It’s a good thing he likes the Animal Control officers, but he both yearns for and dreads those calls where he runs into ACO Jason Shen. Jason’s scent is so delicious that Wolf has a difficult time humaning around him. Animal Control calls take a disturbing turn, though, when Wolf and his lizard-man partner, Krisk, discover the impossibly mummified bodies of rats and an unfortunate mother cat. The rescue of the cat’s sole surviving kitten not only gives Wolf more time with Jason, which is both perplexing and wonderful, but also leads to dangerous discoveries. Something inconceivable stalks the city and its officers of the law. Wolf has to figure out what it is before it can attack and drain the life from the people and the kitten he loves. The big news this week, if you haven't seen me jumping up and down and shrieking about it yet, is the release of Vassily the Beautiful on audio. (!!) Greg Boudreaux lends his voice talents to the characters and narration and it is everything you could ever want in Vassily. It is all the things. Cheese and crows. It's worth a listen just for Sumerki alone. It's up at Audible, Amazon and iTunes. Also, Vance Bastian is doing edits on the final couple of chapters for Shax's War: Brimnstone 3. The boys are back, and you all will get to hear Vance's interpretation of the new characters. (Leopold is so cute, and Mac is...I'm not giving it away. You'll have to wait. :D ) So we should have Shax's War before the month is out of the Audible gods are kind! Will recommence once I figure out what's happening with my microphone. The gods of tech think they're funny.
My dark little heart is going pitter-pat this morning - just checked the site and Vassily is now listed as "Headed to Retail" for the audio version! Soon, oh so soon, we'll be able to share the amazing narration work Greg Boudreaux did with this book. I'm not kidding. It's amazing. For those of you waiting to hear Sumi's voice, you won't be disappointed. Keep an eye out on the web - hoping to have links for you in the next couple of days here. :) Work is ongoing on the next Offbeat Crimes novel, Jackalopes and Woofen-Poofs - at about 21K now and moving right along. I have internal deadlines that I'm worried about meeting but I'll do the best I can.
Offbeat Crimes 4, Feral Dust Bunnies, is available at Pride PUblishing right now and up for pre-order everywhere else. Two things about that:
