This time next week, I'll be at the first day of Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. I'm a little intimidated. The show floor is hugemongous.
If you're in the Seattle area and would like to come say hi or buy some books or yell at me for being mean to Julian, I'll be in the vendor hall: Mischief Corner Books: Booth #943 Look for the MCB dragon:

Last year, I may have gone a little overboard with the conventions and was away in more months than ones in which I stayed home. Um. Yeah. This year, I've decided to cut back a bit, but there are two definite and a third highly probable (we'll see this weekend.) #1 - Emerald City Comic Con Seattle, WA March 12-15, 2020 I'm going to be at the Mischief Corner Books table - booth 943 in the vendor's hall. There may be some points when I run away to attend a panel or a class, but for the most part, I'll be at the booth. :) #2 - Flamecon Times Square, NY, NY August 15-16, 2020 This one's the probable. We'll see after vendor sign ups. Again - I'll be there with Mischief Corner if all goes well. #3 GRL (Gay Romance Literature)
St Louis, MO October 15-18 I did snag a Featured Author spot and will be attending this year. No idea whether I'm trying for a panel yet - we'll see. :D So that's one west coast, one east coast, and one in the middle. Trying to spread myself out this year! All righty - RT (the Romantic Times Booklovers' Convention) is next week (!!!) in Reno. For anyone who'll be there, if you'd like to hook up for lunch or something, just let me know. :D
Otherwise, if you want to find me at an official thing, I'll be acting as an acquisitions editor for MCB and as an author for DSP. These are the places I absolutely have to be, lol: Wednesday, May 16 1:00 Editor Appointments (for Mischief Corner Books) Thursday, May 17 10:00 DSP Autograph Scavenger Hunt 1:30 Editor Appointments Friday, May 18 10:00 Small Press Event (for MCB) Saturday, May 19 6:00 DSP's Fan-tas-tic Day Party Hope to see you there! Romantic Times in Reno Convention appearances this year are a little scarce, Stuff just didn't work out for several things. I will be at Romantic Times in May, though, in case you happen to be there. My first time there - sort of a scouting expedition - though thank all the holies I won't be alone. Freddy and Diane will be there to keep me from getting lost in the desert. If you're a writer and want to pitch something, we'll be doing editor/author meetings for Mischief Corner Books. Come chat! Endangered Fae I've had several questions this year that read something along the lines of "What happened to the Finn books?" (Soft wailing sometimes in accompaniment.) Fear not. Endangered Fae will start showing up in the e-book/paperback sphere shortly here, through Pride Publishing. Finn goes up for pre-order April 10 and releases May 22 - the rest to follow throughout the year. Lijun Also coming up shortly here, a brand new paranormal series with Freddy MacKay - Lijun. The first book, Fireworks & Stolen Kisses, goes up for pre-order May 15 and releases June 26. Series blurb: From the time humans became a unique species, the lijun have lived among us. Dual spirit beings able to change at will between their human halves and their animal halves, at different periods throughout history lijun have been revered, feared and reviled. Modern lijun realized some time ago that their survival in the human world depends upon successful, peaceful integration—a partnership with humans who are unaware of their existence. But in the little town of Wadiswan, Wisconsin, tensions between rival factions run high, escalating to the point where the secretive lijun community risks exposure. The survival of lijun everywhere may depend on which side wins. Look for the cover coming soon! Some weeks are quiet and some weeks are all the things! Thing One: I'm at Yaoi Con this week at the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency for Mischief Corner Books. The convention is October 6-8 and they do have day passes. The amazing Catherine Dair will be with me as our guest (and much needed pair of hands!) and will be debuting her ultra cute Pip & Skip line of plushies. Come say hi, and pick up some books and bunnies! Thing Two: Jackalopes and Woofen-Poofs: Offbeat Crimes 5 is out everywhere! Yep - in ebook and paperback. Return to the 77th Precinct as Officer Wolf and his boyfriend ACO Jason Shen have another bizarre puzzle on their hands. And Audacity, of course. The MCB holiday event "A Holiday To Remember" is now through its submissions period. Stories will start releasing 11/29 - just in time for the holidays - and will continue throughout December. I'm pleased to say I have a story in this collection, a F/F science fiction humor holiday romance (can I get any more sub-genres in there?) Safety Protocols For Human Holidays releases 12/9 - Join Growlan Security Officer Raskli as she tries to determine what's caused the ship's single Human to begin displaying aberrant (even for a human) behavior. Okay. Let me see if I can remember all the things for this week. Always seem to forget something.
I will agonize and dither over a title for a story for days - weeks! - and then complain about it to Freddy. Suddenly, the title's right there. Because sometimes brain needs a kickstart or perhaps just a kick. The holiday story, for inclusion in Mischief Corner Books A Holiday To Remember collection this year, will be titled "Safety Protocols for Human Holidays." This is not one of my more serious stories. I felt I needed to tell you that. (Ha!) Release date is scheduled for December 9. :D Also - quick reminder that I'll be at Yaoi Con this year (Oct. 6-8 in Santa Clara, CA) at the Mischief Corner Books table. Freddy MacKay will be there and Catherine Dair as our special guest. J. Scott Coatsworth will be joining us on Sunday. Come see us in the dealers room - come for a chat, a hug, some books and some bunnies!
Well, hey! It's Thursday again! Somebody tell the weeks to slow down, please. Next week at this time I'm going to be packing up the car and heading for Rhode Island and Massachusetts! - First stop will be Annie's Book Stop where I'll be for an appearance starting at 7pm on Thursday, March 2. Hopefully I won't be too punchy from the drive. This should be interesting. ;) I'll be reading and chatting and signing if you so desire. -Next stop - Bishounen Con! Where we'll get to hang out with the lovely Jordan Hawk and hubby, the talented Jill Marie Hackett and all of our friends from the Yaoi North tribe! Bishounen is from 3/3-3/5 and you can find me and Freddy in the Dealers Room most of the time, though we will have panels and readings. OK. So that's the upcoming trip that I'm all excited about and losing sleep over. Cause that's what I do.
The other thing I wanted to mention this week is the WIP's. Those of you who've known me long enough have heard plenty of times that I'm only comfortable working on one thing. I may have other works started that I've set aside, but active works in progress? I want to be working on One Thing At A Time. (Possibly two if I'm co-authoring, since that's a different process.) I'm currently working on four (FOUR!!!) active (ACTIVE!!!) WIP's. And trying not to hyperventilate with competing and overlapping deadlines coming up. There's the ongoing Marionettes in the Mist project that we're getting close to wrapping up. There's the next book in the Offbeat Crimes series, Feral Dust Bunnies, that's due scarily soon. There's the next Brandywine book, Pack Up the Moon, that Isn't on deadline but is still active. And finally there's a secret thing I'm working on that I need to hand in the first couple of chapters this week to see if the publisher wants me to go forward. *pant* *wheeze* *gasp* I'm okay...I'm okay. 2017. Most years I have trouble remembering that the year has changed. Oddly, I have no such difficulties this year. Yeah... Odd...
Uncommonly Tidy Potergeists releases next Wednesday! Thank you everyone who has pre-ordered. Remember if you pre-ordered from All Romance and have trouble getting a refund to email: mischiefcornerbooks@gmail.com. They'll get you taken care of so you still get the book you paid for. This is my first all-new story to come out since April of 2016. Yes. Last year just went all to heck and back with re-releases, didn't it? I declare 2017: The Year of the New Story! Yes, there are a couple of re-releases to take care of still, but the vast majority have been rewritten, re-edited, launched and out. Whew. Starting the year off right with Poltergiests, which is not only new but has an ace protagonist. From there I have on the docket:
