That's a lot of things, isn't it? For a month where very little is happening, I have a bunch of news snippets today:

For anyone who hasn't seen the news yet, Carrington got his contract! Pride Publishing will put his story up for preorder in February, with the early download in March and the general release in April.
Skim Blood and Savage Verse is Offbeat Crimes #3, featuring nutritionally-challenged vampire, Carrington Loveless III and all of his misfit freak squad mates. Pre-order: 2/21 Pride website: 3/7 General Release: 4/4 Also - It's Australia Day! Happy Straya Day to all my Aussie friends! In honor of the day, Mischief Corner Books has put their whole site on sale - 30% off, use the coupon in the graphic at checkout. Need something to listen to besides a certain orange billionaire's voice today? Allow me to offer a little bit of Skim Blood and Savage Verse: Offbeat Crimes 3. Carrington Loveless III gets his turn in this one, atypical vampire, son of an old-money family. It's a story that only he could tell. Also - pardon the blips in the narration. I forgot how to word for a second there. Skim Blood and Savage Verse
Offbeat Crimes 3 Coming soon from Pride Publishing Preorder: 21st February Early Download: 7th March (Pride website release) General Release: 4th April When a ferocious book attacks Carrington at his own birthday party, he believes it's an isolated incident. But similar books soon pop up all over town, menacing innocent people with harsh bits of poetry and blank verse that deliver damaging physical blows. It's a frustrating case with too many variables and not enough answers, and the stakes go up with each attack. With the help of his misfit squad mates at the 77th and the public library's rare book department, the missing pieces decrease but not Carrington's vexations. His commanding officer rakes him over the coals at the beginning of every shift. His police partner has lost patience with what she sees as his delusional relationship choices and his inability to pick the right man in a vast field of two. City Hall demands that the books be stopped immediately. It's enough to put a nutritionally-challenged vampire off his skim blood. Thought Thursdays would be a good time for news tidbits, to share where I am with the writey things.
Brandywine 5 (Pack Up the Moon) is in the middle of Chapter Seven, but I've had to put it aside for a moment because I went too slowly and now have a deadline looming. Don't worry, I won't abandon Charon and Azeban. Offbeat Crimes 3 is the looming item, since I promised my editor the next story before winter. Since these aren't long novels, generally (hopefully), I should be all right. This one is titled "Skim Blood and Savage Verse" - if you hadn't guessed from the title, it's Carrington's story and there is a first scene done. Hooray for progress! In the Oh Gods What Have I Done department - I've sent a proposal to Dreamspinner for their new Dreamspun Beyond category romance line. This is a bit of stretch writing for me, since Category Romance is not my normal venue. And they may still find that it doesn't fit once it's written. So - 5K sample due March 1, story due June 1. "The Mage on the Hill" - look for magic and people who need each other. :o Other than that, my conventions are done for the year and I can breathe again! You know those nice quiet months? Like, oh, April, when there are no conventions or book fairs, and you only have one release? Um, yeah, seems like a long time ago now... June is nutso crazy bonkers gonzo with waaaay too much going on. But I'll try to give you a rundown anyway, because if I don't enumerate, I'll get lost and eaten by the release dragons, and you'll never hear from me again. Oh! I mean, I have a lot to share with you! Yes! That's what I meant! First up - a bit of Science Fiction drama! The Color of His Crest - released 6/6/15 - a bittersweet short story of a multigendered world and a young person who just doesn't fit, no matter how hard he tries.
