It's here if you want it. ;) A little tease from the beginning of The Hunt for Red Fluffy.

That is, a release date for Fluffy rather than a release date of fluffiness.
The Hunt for Red Fluffy, Brimstone 5 has a release date set for September 10, so fire up your Copernicus engines and shine up your horns. The Brimstone flies again. Want to see a blurb? It's here if you want to or not :D Cover coming soon! (Author's note: It's highly recommended that this series be read in order, from Potato Surprise on through Beside a Black Tarn. If you're adventurous and cavalier in your reading, by all means, jump right in. But it would be rather like going to the opera without a program.) Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! The Hunt for Red Fluffy is done. The End. She's now with the faithful beta readers and it shouldn't be too much longer before we see a release date. This is the longest Brimstone yet, at about 39K before edits. Huh. My little novella series is trying to turn into novels. We're counting down now - less than a month before the release of The Mage on the Hill - eeeeee! I have blog posts to write and things to do, but I'm very excited to announce that Mage will also be launching in German. :D
Der Magier auf dem Berg should be available on or about the English language release date. It's finally springy here while I type this, which puts me in a hopeful, green frame of mind. There are more daffodils this year, so my separation campaign has worked, though the squirrels seem to have stolen the tulip bulbs again despite the blood meal. Oh well. In writing news, because you didn't come for a gardening blog: The Amazon links are here for The Mage on the Hill! Up for pre-order now in all countries that I've checked (UK, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Australia, Canada) and releasing May 7. Pre-order links are available everywhere else as well including, of course, at the publisher. :) Amazon Dreamspinner Barnes and Noble Kobo iBooks The first box set of Offbeat Crimes stories releases this coming Tuesday at Pride Publishing. That's the first three books in the series for only $4.99. A steal if there ever was one.
The second set is due out April 16. Chipping away at the current WIP's.
Progress is ongoing for Detonations and Devotions: Lijun 3, in which Tally and Haru just have a lovely life and nothing at all goes wrong. (If you are screaming liar, liar, pants on fire! at this point, you would be correct.) Also making good progress on the next Brimstone, The Hunt for Red Fluffy. Looks to be about halfway there? I gave up predicting word count for Shax some time ago, though, so let's just say we're at least a third, possibly more. Which is now this year, of course, and time for me to tell you what's on the buffet for the coming months. The calendar list on the home page now shows 2019 - and you may notice there's not a lot on it yet. What the heck, Angel?
This is partly because I've only included things that have an actual or approximate release date so far, and partly because I'm trying so very hard not to over commit myself this year. We'll see how that goes... Coming up this month:
Other things I'm hoping for this year:
And that's it. That's all I'm saying about this year. Let the words fall where they may! It's here! Release the frogs! I mean... Shax! Come back! I was kidding! *ahem* Anyway. We'll track our intrepid captain down later. Right now it's time for the Beside A Black Tarn audio release, narrated and voiced by the amazing Vance Bastian! In which Vance voices all the characters you've heard before, plus one rather astonishing one. I don't know how he did it... It's Brimstone. It's an homage to Edgar Allan Poe. It's a disaster of...well, you'll have to have a listen. Beside A Black Tarn Brimstone 4 Narrated & Voiced by Vance Bastian Amazon AUDIO Audible iTunes When Shax stumbles across rumors of an experimental house that responds to the occupant’s brain functions, creating scenarios to please and delight, naturally, he wants to steal it. But with the return of a troubled and hunted Julian Parallax and an overabundance of Poe references, even Shax’s scheming may not be enough to get the Brimstone crew out alive this time. Honestly, I feel like I've lost an entire month. I haven't, of course. Got to go to RT and see wonderful people. Moved Dad to his new apartment. Been catching up on lots of medical appointment type things I've been neglecting. (My new doctor: It's been HOW many years since you had this?)
Right. Moving on... No big release news this week - we do have the release of Fireworks and Stolen Kisses coming up later in June. Right now, I'm working on a couple of things:
So that's me right now. Things should be settling down again next month. Fingers crossed. Things are ticking away here as our lack of spring yields abruptly to summer. Hooray. (Full disclosure - I'm so not fond of summer, it's right up there for me with okra.)
Things that are happening:
Also - for anyone going to RT in Reno this year, come and say hi! I'll put up a schedule of places where you can hunt me down next week. IT'S DONE! After only about, oh, a year - Pack Up The Moon (Brandywine 5) is off to the faithful beta for rip and shred, um, critique. Yes. That's what I meant. So - nearly there, depending on how strenuous rewrites will be. :D I'm so sorry, to anyone who heard me read at Bishounen Con last year (or at the bookstore the night before) that it's taken so long. Things got...thingy. That and Offbeat Crimes took over my life for a bit. Anyway - this will go into an omnibus like the first Brandywine set to include Books, Bulls and Bacchanals and the short story "Midwinter Dancing" with this one. Onward! Also - look for the audio edition for Potato Surprise: A Brimstone Prequel, hopefully this week. It's in that "processing" stage at ACX - soon.
Vance Bastian has lent his considerable talents to the Brimstone crew and universe once again and I'm so excited for everyone to hear! The winners of the Shaxenger Hunt for audio codes (when we have them) were: Eija Jeremy An Janette and A Shax Groupie :D Congratulations! Links coming soon! What? Overdramatic? Okay. Maybe it's not quite that bad. Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! But holiday stories ARE up for pre-order for the Holiday To Remember Collection and the first one goes live 11/29 (Watermelon Kisses.) For the full schedule, blurbs, pre-order links and pretty covers, I've done a convenient blog post here: A Holiday To Remember And yes, I do have a holiday story this year. :D Really should make an annual thing of it. Mine's up for pre-order now, too, and will go live on December 9. Safety Protocols For Human Holidays Growlan Raskli serves as the security officer on an interspecies ship. It's her job to keep the peace amid a wild array of cultural and physical differences. But when senior staff ask her to investigate the new aberrant behavior of their single Human crewmember, she's at a complete loss. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0776H1DZM/ https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/safety-protocols-for-human-holidays https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/safety-protocols-for-human-holidays/id1308094310?mt=11 Also up for pre-order and releasing everywhere, all at once, on January 2, 2018, the final installment of the Offbeat Crimes series arc. If you've been following along, this is the one in which all of your questions get answered. No. Not that one. Um, not that one either... This is the one in which the questions I'm willing to answer get answered. All The World's An Undead Stage Offbeat Crimes 6 (Gay Paranormal Humor) Ebook: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0783PL72N https://www.pride-publishing.com/book/all-the-worlds-an-undead-stage Paperback: https://www.pride-publishing.com/book/all-the-worlds-an-undead-stage-print Don't forget that Shax and the Brimstone crew launched in French this week, too! Captain Shax will be trying to impress everyone with his French all week, I'm sure.
